How to Improve Survival Without Sacrificing Aggression

by Junior Jessa

Surviving till the end of a battle royale shooting game requires you to think on your feet and employ many strategies. That is because such games are highly competitive and are played by many players, some of whom are experts.

But which survival strategies should you use to win any online game with friends? This blog discusses those strategies in detail.

Strategies to Survive Longer and Play Boldly in Competitive Multiplayer Shooting Games

Know the Map

In competitive multiplayer shooting games, there is no substitute for detailed knowledge of the map, such as its layout and escape routes.

Memorising each detail ensures that you know which routes to use to travel across the map and where to expect airdrops. Moreover, when you play with friends, learning the map also improves your teamwork and survival skills.

For example, in BGMI, you can use your map knowledge to hide or camp strategically, or take the best resources from the designated spots.

Pick Your Landing Zone Smartly

When you play a multiplayer online game with friends, picking your landing zone correctly sets the tone for the rest of your gameplay. Landing in a high-opponent-density zone can reduce your chances of long-term survival due to the presence of expert opponents.

On the other hand, landing in a low-opponent-density zone can increase your survival chances, since you will get more time to gather resources. For example, you and your team can gather armour, weapons and other useful accessories.

So ideally, all of you should aim to land in low-opponent density zones.

Optimise Your Resource Allocation

You should plan how many in-game resources, like weapons, armour and other accessories, you can carry. This is because competitive multiplayer shooting game characters have a finite resource-carrying limit.

For example, in BGMI, you cannot carry more than 2 main weapons, 1 side weapon, and a certain number of rounds of ammunition. So you should accordingly plan which weapons to take.

This planning will ensure that you have enough space for important resources later on, if required.

Use Shooting to Restrict Opponent Movements

Generally, most players shoot to defeat opponents. However, you can use shoot to restrict your opponents from moving. For instance, if you can see your opponents hiding within a house, you can shoot that house’s doors or windows.

This action will let them know that they have been spotted and will prevent them from coming out. You can then keep moving ahead and gathering more points, while they stay put and hamper their chance of success.

Stay Aware of the Whole Environment

Being aware of the whole environment will ensure that you are not surprised by your opponents at any given time. You should listen carefully for in-game cues like explosions, vehicle sounds, or player footsteps. Along with that, keep an eye on the visual cues indicator on the map.

Conclusion

You can increase your chances of survival in competitive multiplayer shooting games by knowing the map thoroughly, optimising your resources and using suppressive shooting. Moreover, you can also practice thoroughly to boost your survival skills.
